Complaints
We have about 200 companies per month applying for our accelerator,
so naturally, we get complaints... If you have one, please check here
first for our response before you bother to email or text or call.
- It's not fair! I didn't get a free XXX: It is not fair that
you got a free presentation, free advice and answers to any of your
questions, free articles and videos, and did NOT get free XXX?
- I don't need an accelerator, I only want your money (usually
stated differently): This one comes in different forms, but
frankly, if all you needed was investments, why is it you applied to
an accelerator? And in our experience, if you are having problems
getting investments, it's probably because your business or way of
explaining it aren't good enough, or you don't know how to sell to
investors. So you do indeed need an good accelerator, or at least good
advice.
- You were so quick to respond to send me the calendar invite but
have been slow to respond to my questions: I tend to respond at
different speeds at different times because I do other things... I
presume that you do too. I usually respond within 24 hours, at least 5
days a week, but if that's not fast enough, you probably don't want a
human being who knows what they are talking about and thinks about
their responses, and you should ask for help elsewhere.
- You charge for your services: Some of them we do... and I
hope you charge for yours, or else you will not be in business very
long... But if you like, I will do trades, as long as we both report
the value in our tax filings appropriately as income and expenses. We
provide lots of free stuff, more than almost anyone else in the
business, except those who are getting paid by another source... and
do you really imagine they are all doing it because they just want to
help you at the cost of their time and effort?
- You plan to profit off me: Yes - I do! And you plan to
profit off of me too! That's a major aspect of what doing business is
about. If you are a non-profit, that's great too. But we are not.
- You don't have a portfolio of people you have invested in that
can be referenced: You mean like the list of portfolio companies
and drill down into details in the GWiz™ page at a2e.co? We are
probably one of the most transparent companies you will find in the
investment and advisory space. But we don't put up brags to get you to
work with us. We are looking for CEOs who are serious about what they
do and take the time to check things out at the approporiate step in
their process.
- I didn't like your Web page [It looks old/it looks like a
fraud/etc.]: This shows how little you apparently know about Web
pages (and sales and marketing). I adapt my Web page based on
performance for its purpose. You apparently thought (if you thought at
all) that not meeting your expectations for appearance was somehow an
indicator of something wrong. And it is. It means you judge things by
how they look and not what they are or do. That's something wrong with
you. And finally, I thought I should mention that QVC looks like the
stupidest TV channel there could ever be - but they generate something
like $3B a year in revenue and over $300M in profit.
- You send out too many emails - it's SPAM: We have no desire
to send you things you don't want to get. When you sign up to our
accelerator programs, you agree that we can contact you in regard to
those programs. That's necessary in order to participate. That's what
it said in the sign-up link you clicked on, and that's what it says in
the emails we send you, and elsewhere. These also tell you how to
remove yourself from these lists, and we manually remove folks as
well, when they ask. And we usually send out only one email per week
to our email list. However, when you sign up to an event, we also send
a reminder the day before and just before start time to help make
certain you don't miss the thing you signed up for. And when we send
an invitation, we send a confirmation email under separate cover to
make certain you got the invitation and it didn't end up in spam or
some such thing.
- A long list of complaints based on not reading or following
directions: It's a test! If you don't read what we write or listen
to what we say, you fail the reading and listening skills and/or the
following directions tests. And that means we are very unlikely to
invest in you. We will try to help you for free, and even more so if
you pay us to do so. But you shuold do your part by reading and
following directions, and reading and listening to the things we write
and say.
In summary
We really do try to be helpful. And we really don't try to offend
you by what we do. But really, if you want to complain and you are not
paying us, you might try sending your complaints to nobody@nowhere.net
- they will be happy to ignore you on our behalf. On the other hand,
if you are honestly trying to be helpful, you might check the facts
before jumping in with an opinion.
